Beautiful sommerso glass block vase designed by Flavio Poli for Mandruzzato (Murano, Italy) in the 1960s. The vase is made of green, yellow and clear glass. "Sommerso" is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which was very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer. Measurements: height: 12.5 cm; width: 4 cm; depth: 4 cm. Excellent vintage condition.

Flavio POLI

Flavio Poli (1900-1984) was een beroemde Italiaanse ontwerper, bekend om zijn werk in glas. Poli werd geboren in Chioggia, vlakbij Venetië, en studeerde aan het Instituut voor Toegepaste Kunsten in Venetië, waar hij een passie ontwikkelde voor geblazen glas.
