Vintage teak sideboard by G-Plan, 1960s

Victor Wilkins designed this long sideboard in England for the well- known maker G-plan in the 60´s. G-plan was a famous maker with a high reputation due to its well made furniture, E Gomme Limited of High Wycombe began making and selling high quality furniture before the turn of the century. Made with pride to be owned with pleasure , this furniture immediately established a reputation for its construction and designed, most of them with a high influenced from the Scandinavian designers. G-Plan´s position as the country leading manufacturer of furniture grew with the skilful use of teak veneer and their approach to the fundamental requirements of the furniture design. This sideboard belongs to its Brasilia collection, designed by Victor Wilkins. The sideboard has a bank of four drawers in the centre with a first one line up for the cutlery, on the left hand side a two doors cupboard with an adjustable shelf and on the right hand side a pull-down door cupboard designed for the drinks. the curl organics handles and the beauty of the legs frame all in afromosia make this sideboard a superb and Iconic piece from G Plan.
