Vintage UFO opaline pendant lamp, 1950-1960

Super cool, vintage, mid-century UFO suspension lamp, made of pale yellow glass with gold edges and a circuit board type design, from the 50's to 60's. Made of a single piece of coated or opaline glass, the body of this suspension looks like a disc or "flying saucer". The upper section and the conical top are pale yellow to pale beige, depending on the light or the angle of view. The lower section is the same colour, with a textured mesh-like pattern that resembles tiny laminated components of a printed circuit board. The center trim and bottom edge are gold. The lamp is overall, in good condition with light marks and signs of age and use, commensurate with the time on the structure (see photos.) Slightly faded finish on the lower body, and gold trim (see photos), but nothing that affects its beauty or functionality. There are no cracks or chips. The lamp has been tested and works. When lit, it emits a warm, soft glow (see photos.) It comes with its original ceiling mount and cord with a rubber washer to adjust the height, a plastic hook to hang or secure it to the ceiling, and its original brass socket, which fits a small B22 bayonet bulb up to 250v, (bulb not included.) A fantastic piece of lighting, with a beautiful "space age" design, that will fit well into any environment with other mcm, retro or industrial decor. Total height with wire: Approx. 60 cm.
