Vintage rocking chair by Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau, Germany 1960s

DESCRIPTION Original rocking chair from the 1960s. This beautiful rocking chair was manufactured by the Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau, a company rich in tradition. It was probably the most famous furniture manufacturer in East Germany, employing many renowned designers. The beech wood frame has an inserted peddigree wickerwork. The high, curved and slightly tapered backrest and the wide seat make for comfortable sitting and are also beautifully shaped. The chair is not labelled, but is sufficiently known from the catalogue. CONDITION Good condition, corresponding to the age. The chair has small traces of use and thus a very beautiful patina.
