Pair of vintage Baronet rosewood lounge armchairs by Marco Zanuso for Arflex Italy 1964

Designed by Marco Zanuso for Arflex 1964 These special Baronet loungers have a rosewood veneered multiplex frame with separate cushions in red Kvadrat Tonus. The fabric has been replaced later, for the rest the chairs are in original condition, with the original rubber-based underlay. The rosewood frame is structurally in good condition, but the veneer has faded over time, most probably because the whole set was placed in a veranda with a lot of sunlight. Fortunately, the discolouration occurred almost uniformly, so there is little or no visible colour difference on the frames. The frames show some small traces of use. The fabric and foam are in excellent condition, as is the rubber underlay.
