The Shell Chairs by Charles and Ray Eames are among the major creations in the history of furniture. After their initial submission to the "Low Cost Furniture Design" competition organised by the Museum of Modern Art in 1948, the chairs were launched on the market in 1950 in both armchair (A shell) and simpler chair versions (S shell) - the first plastic chairs to be mass-produced. One model has always stood out from the vast family of chairs: the Rocking Armchair Rod Base (RAR). The fibreglass version of the organically shaped RAR shell emphasises the lively texture that characterises this material. The fascination of fibreglass lies in its irregular surface, whose clearly visible fibres give it an almost natural appearance. The Fiberglass Chair RAR is a compact armchair in its own right, whose emblematic shape and steel wire frame on wooden glides adds a remarkable accent to any interior.
