Large Vintage orange 'Onion' pendant lamp by Alessandro Pianon for Vistosi, Italy 1950s

This very beautiful pendant lamp, model ’Onion’, was designed by Alessandro Pianon for Vistosi in Italy. The orange "onion" shape is made of hand blown Murano glass. The inside has opaline white glass that gives a beautiful warm and pleasant light. The lamp has a steel wire that holds the metal hanging fixture that the large model have to help carry the weight. Two different sizes and several colours were produced; this is the large version with a diameter of 45 cm. It is in a very good condition with minor signs of age and use.
