A Younger was a leading manufacturer of contemporary furniture in the late 1950s and through the late 1960s. Its principal designer was the talented John Herbert, about whom little is known beyond Younger's designs. A Younger's chests of drawers are often much larger than those of other British or even Danish manufacturers. They were intended to sell to rich and elegant customers, who would have larger houses and presumably more socks, knitwear, etc. than the average person at the time. In the early 1960s.
