Vintage Swedish sofa in velvet 1950

A beautiful mid century sofa reupholstered in blue grey velvet with gros grain trimmings & buttons. A rare mid century sofa was originally shown at the Önskehem’s Stockholm furniture exhibition in 1952. Characteristic of design from this period simple and elegant adhering to modernist principles, but a loosening of the rigid forms of earlier in the century more organic soft flowing curves.
