Set of 4 vintage chairs Wilkhahn by Wilhelm Ritz

This set of 4 Wilkhahn model 231 conference dining room chairs is in very good condition. The very attractive color combination of white plastic back shells with brown textile cushions shows minimal signs of wear. The chairs have a backrest which is supported to the rear by a suspension. The chairs cannot be rotated. More than 100 years ago, the Wilkhahn company was founded by Friedrich Hahne and Christian Wilkening as a chair factory. In 1946 contact was established with the Deutsche Werkstätten with the designers Georg Leowald and Herbert Hirche, who worked in the Bauhaus tradition. Since then, Wilkhahn has been one of the premium manufacturers of office furniture.
