Vintage suspension lamp by A. F. Gangkofner for Erco Germany 1970s

Original pendant lamp from the early 1970s, produced in the former West Germany by the Erco label. This is model 2107, which features a spherical screen made of translucent high-density cellulose acetate. It is a version of the designs that Aloys Ferdinand Gangkofner (1920 - 2003) developed for the brand itself in the 1950s, a master glassmaker who, upon entering the world of lighting, began experimenting with plastic in order to mimic the sophisticated shades cut from glass (in order to lighten their excessive weight), the one seen here illustrates this success. The lamp is in very good condition, with minimal signs of use. The restored and fully functional electrical part (suitable for led or filament bulbs) uses an E27 threaded bulb, max 100W.
