Lot of 6 vintage Dordogne chairs by Charlotte Perriand for Robert Sentou 1950

The Charlotte Perriand Dordogne series, named after a river in the Corrèze region of France, consisting of a dining room chair, armchair stool, sofa and bench, was one of the most famous series designed for the French furniture house Robert Sentou. The dining chairs in question are the Dordogne dining chairs with their original rattan (or straw) upholstery and with a stained ash wood frame and unpainted rattan. These chairs specific to the Dordogne have the flat ends of the frame, which probably indicates that they were produced in the late 1950s as first editions. The chairs are handmade, but they are very solid. It is clear that these chairs have a strong collection capacity among enthusiasts due to their increasing rarity. On his condition The chairs are entirely original but in excellent condition. The wood has been very well preserved and shows only minor traces of use. The rattan is also in very good condition, with no structural damage and a completely solid structure. The former owner inherited the chairs from her mother, who bought them new in the late 1950s. She confirmed that the chairs were used exclusively for guest visits and that before their use, pillows were used to protect the rattan. This probably explains their excellent condition to date.
