Vintage Desk by Danilo Silvestrin for Rosenthal, Germany, 1980s

This desk was designed in 1983 by the Italian designer Danilo Silvestrin on behalf of the German manufacturer Rosenthal and produced in small series. The porcelain manufacturer Rosenthal entertained in the 1970s and 1980s also an exclusive design furniture division, which was launched in cooperation with well-known designers and in small batches. The desk reminds undoubtedly to the Dutch artist Piet Mondrian, who was one of the founders of Künstlerveinigung DeStijl. He also inspired the German Bauhaus with its austere, simple lines. The use of the primary colors red, yellow and blue as well as the non-colors black, white and gray have made him memorable to this day. Consequently, Danilo Silvestrin has been found with the desk "homage to Mondrian" by its clear horizontal and vertical lines and the use of the basic colors red, yellow, blue for the supporting columns and the non-color black for the crossmember, and light gray for the work surface all honor. The five individual elements are assembled with plug and screw and can thus be disassembled for transport. The light gray work surface is 180 cm wide, 90 cm deep and 75 cm high.
