Vintage set of 4 modulars armchairs by Otto Zapf by Softline 1970s

This Softline modular system with 4 single chair moduls comes in a white plastic base and with a yellow fabric cover. It is in very good condition, the bright yellow fabric and the plastic base shows slightly signs of use. The fabric cover can easily be removed to be cleaned. One of the chairs show slight fading on the backside of the backrest, not visible from the front. Some corners of the plastic base show signs of use. Rare collectors piece with a lot of variations. Otto Zapf founded together with Niels Vitsoe in 1958 the company Vitsoe+Zapf and ccoperated also with Dieter Rams. In 1969 Otto Zapf left the company and designed in 1970 the Softline system whcih was a huge success. After that Zapf worked for Knoll Int. and his designs were manufactured from Knoll, B&B Italia etc.
