Vintage "Ge290" armchair with ottoman by Hans J. Wegner for Getama, Denmark 1950s

A highback chair with matching ottoman, model GE290, designed by Hans J. Wegner and manufactured by Getama in Denmark around 1950. This beautiful set is made of high quality oak wood in a nice, warm brown colour. The seat of the chair as well as the top of the foot stool are upholstered in high quality teal fabric. The backwards tilted seat adds nicely to the already really good seating comfort of the chair. The straight shapes with very nice finish and gently tapered legs are typical for mid-century Scandinavian and makes this set a highly recognizable Wegner design The sizes of the chair are W. 75.5 x D. 85 x H. 95 (SH. 37) cm The sizes of the stool are W. 57.5 x D. 48.5 x H. 41 cm The set remains in very good, vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use and new upholstery.
