Vintage bentwood side table, 1940-1950s

Vintage bentwood curved plant stand from the 40's and 50's, made of beech wood, with a rich and warm walnut finish. The piece features a circular top shelf and a butterfly-shaped bottom shelf, resting on 4 long curved bentwood legs that evoke the style, design and spirit of some of the manufacturers of the time such as Thonet, Mundus or Baumann. Just below the top, there is a circular piece of bentwood, with 4 hooks inside (see photo), which could be used to hang accessories like an umbrella, a handbag or other. The piece is in overall good, original, vintage condition. There is a mark on the top, and another, on the bottom tray (see photos with a penny for perspective), as well as some light marks and signs of age and use related to time, and a patina of time on the overall structure. It has only been lightly cleaned and buffed from the original patina . It is solid and stable.
