Über dieses Vintage-Designmöbel

The modernist cabinet for vinyl records. The chest was designed by Poul Cadovius for the Danish Cado manufacture during the late 1950s and produced during the 1960s as a part of the Royal System modular shelving. This cabinet is finished with oak wood, highly valued in northern regions of Europe, with regular and clean graining and a natural and mild color. It has seven compartments for vinyl records. The design has been completed with the addition of black turned legs, making it a standalone piece of furniture and does not require hanging on the wall. This piece is ideally suited to many arrangements as well as bring a lot of joy to fans of analog electronics. Poul Cadovius was born in Denmark in 1911, died in 2011. He was a Danish architect, designer and furniture manufacturer. He studied as a saddler and upholsterer. Then he became interested in design, especially the modular wall system. His goal was to create furniture that could be adapted to different interiors. So he designed many collections of modular systems, the number of combinations of which is impressive. In the 1960s he bought the France & Son company for which he designed and named it Cado. He has collaborated with Grete Jalk, Finn Juhl and Arne Vodder. Due to its innovative approach to modular shelving and folding furniture, Cadovius is considered one of the greatest designers of the 20th century. The Royal System dominates his legacy, despite having patented around 400 designs in his lifetime. This piece is in very good vintage condition. It has minor signs of age and natural patina. The base was made in our studio.
