Vintage Congo chair by Theo Ruth for Artifort 1950

The Congo is a fine example of 1950s playful design. This chair was designed by Theo Ruth in 1952 for Artifort. Ruth was inspired by African chairs. This chair is made up of two parts that maintain a perfect balance. The seat is very comfortable thanks to the sturdy suspension that Artifort incorporated into the chairs at the time.
