Über dieses Vintage-Designmöbel

A set of barstools designed by Norman Cherner in oak veneered plywood with chrome bases and vinyl back cushions. Originally designed in 1958, these Norman Cherner barstools incorporate many of the features for which Cherner is famous. These include the innovative use of graded plywood to create strength but also beauty in the way the shape of his chairs and stools have been sculpted to create slightly curved shapes and contours. The chairs are not labeled, but I think they are original due to several factors: the thickness and contour of the gooseneck backrest, the fixing base plate and leg anchor screws, and the vinyl upholstered backrest. The latter in particular appears to be exclusive to the licensed Cherner models that offered a custom service allowing customers to choose the basic model and add upholstered backrests (either front only or front and back) and a choice of upholstered seats - on this basis, you will not find a company on the market selling reproductions with upholstery options like this. The shape has changed over the years, so the "V" shape of the backrest upholstery would date these particular chairs from around the 1980s, which would also correspond to the marks of use on each chair. They are presented in good original condition with traces of use in a few places on the front edge of the seat and on the feet, as can be expected. The general appearance and use of the stools are not affected and, in any event, the price of the items is set with these elements in mind. Please note the height of these chairs, as you would need a counter or breakfast bar of the right height to accommodate them. Dimensions H111 X W45 X D52cm Seat height 72cm
