Mid Century Drinks Cabinet or Secrétaire in Walnut by Jos de Mey 1950s

Jos De Mey Walnut Cabinet A multi-use walnut drinks cabinetstorage bureau features internal lights and vintage key fobs. Designed by Jos de Mey, the Belgian-Flemish designer and manufactured by the furniture factory Van den Berghe – Pauvers in Ghent. Jos De Mey (1928–) attended the Municipal Higher Institute of Architecture in Ghent, with none other than Gaston Eysselinck as teacher. In the 1950s, De Mey himself became known as one of the best Belgian furniture designers, and rightly so. He worked as a designer for Van Den Berghe-Pauvers in Ghent, as well as at Luxus in Kortrijk. In 1968 he starts a successful career as a painter. This piece dates back to the 1950s. Made in Belgium.
