Über dieses Vintage-Designmöbel

A master of furniture design in many forms Hans J. Wegner was one of the most prolific Mid-century designers in history. His devotion to fine joinery and simple but elegant forms firmly established Danish Mid-century Modern as a byword for stylish, well-made furniture that was not only popular at the time but is still sought after today. Along with his contemporaries, Arne Jacobsen and Finn Juhl, he believed that form only exists with function and therefore comfort and practicality were his main guide lines. Although little is known about the manufacturer Andreas Tuck, the company produced numerous designs that defined the Danish modern style. Particularly active in the 1950s and ‘60s, they worked closely with Wegner, who was their chief designer, and together created designs that exuded simplicity, elegance and functionality. This table is a beautiful example of a simple form that is both practical and functional – the plain round legs offer clean lines, like pillars holding up a façade, and yet can easily be unscrewed from the base to facilitate storage and relocation. Offered in good vintage condition, it has few small marks here and there but nothing that detracts from its appeal.
