Genuine tortoiseshell vintage threading by Ottini Milano 1973

Superb and unique oak stringcourse entirely covered with real varnished tortoiseshells, was made in Milan by the small design studio Ottini in 1973. Ottini made furniture to order for renowned architects and designers using only rare materials such as parchment, python, crocodile and tortoise shell. The colour palette and details of the turtle shell patchwork are simply incredible. The design is typical Italian Mid-century, rounded shapes reminiscent of Willy Rizzo's design for Mario Sabot. A truly unique piece, extremely rare, in a superb state of preservation.
