Vintage wooden farmhouse console, 1940-1950

Beautifully sized vintage farmhouse console circa 40's50's.This beautiful piece of contemporary rustic style is simply elegant, classic and modern at the same time. It is made of chestnut and pine with an oak color finish and comes straight from the Perigord where it was used in a farmhouse. It is in its original state, with its old original pegs (see photo) it has been completely cleaned, treated and polished with linseed oil to preserve its integrity and patina of time. It is solid and stable. There are of course traces and marks of use and usage on the tray, the apron and the legs, (see photos) but rather than sand it and redo it I preferred to keep its cachet which makes its charm (there are original glides (see photo) personally I see it very well as a wall console against a large wall, in an entrance, a living room or bathroom, it could also serve in a smaller place or in a kitchenette as an occasional table or as a dining table or as a small desk for a home office.
