Set of 4 vintage Mg5 leather cantilever chairs by Matteo Grassi

This classic cantilever set of four MG5 chairs, in cognac saddle leather, is in very good condition. The thick leather shows slight signs of wear and a fantastic patina, the chrome tubes are in good condition. The chrome base of one chair shows signs of wear at the back. The armrests are undamaged and the stitching is tight. Matteo Grassi was founded in 1880 as a manufacturer of saddles and riding gear and over time developed into a manufacturer of high-quality designer furniture. These cantilever chairs were first developed by Martin Stam in the 1920s and revisited by Matteo Grassi in the 1970s.
