A proposito di questi mobili di design vintage

Sciolari wall lights, a pair with gold plated gilt brass frames in the Neoclassical style, 1970’s ca, Italian. These wall lights have been gently cleaned while respecting the vintage patina. They are newly rewired & earthed, PAT tested by an electrician and ready to install. They have 4 new E14 lamp holders and 4 new lampshades. These lights can be use with a dimmer. It is possible to use these sconces in other countries although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity. This elegant pair of vintage wall lights by Gaetano Sciolari are a reinterpretation of the traditional Neoclassical sconce. Key design features such as the laurel swag & finial are kept simple for a Modern clean look. They have Italian craftsmanship and attention to detail, emphasized with the use of polished & satin gilt finishes. The metal frames are quality cast and have a good weight. Gaetano Sciolari’s company was based in Rome, and his designs are often influenced by ancient symbolism. In this example laurel leaves, symbolic of eternal glory or triumph, are at the focal point of the design. These lights would suit a range of interiors such as Antique, Traditional, Hollywood Regency, or Contemporary. These vintage lights have the original maker’s labels "SCIOLARI" & "SCIOLARI Roma" attached behind each oval base. Although both are the same Sciolari design, it is probable they are from different year of production. At the centre of each frame there is a cartouche oval body in gilt brass satin finish with a beaded trim in polished finish. From this body a double arm reaches out. On top of each arm there is a laurel sway. The stem portion of the laurel finishes in a decorative round finial. The arm has a polished finish while the laurel has a satin finish. The arm holds an ellipsoid bobeche in a polished finish with two candle cups, at the top & bottom sides. On the bobeche there is the lamp holder & a removable cover with a satin reeded finish. Under the bobeche there is a long decorative finial in polished brass, with a satin reeded finish segment at the middle. The contrast between the satin & polished finishes creates different reflections and depth. To fit these lights to the wall, each base has a grey metal oval plate with an indentation on the backside that slides onto a separate removable metal bracket with a hook. This separate bracket has 2 holes to screw to the wall. Additional dimensions: The total dimensions with shades on is: Height: 32 cm, Width: 31 cm, Depth:16 cm. The frame alone without the shades is: Height: 22 cm, Width: 22 cm, Depth: 12 cm. The lampshade alone has is: Height: 9.5 cm, Diameter at the bottom: 14 cm, Diameter at the top: 7 cm
