End panels in mahogany veneer and lacquered steel. Jean Prouvé (April 8, 1901 - March 23, 1984) was a self-taught French metallurgist, architect and designer. Le Corbusier called Prouvé a builder, blending architecture and engineering. Prouvé's main achievement was to transfer manufacturing technology from industry to architecture, without losing aesthetic qualities. His design skills were not limited to one discipline. Throughout his career, Jean Prouvé was involved in architectural design, industrial design, structural design and furniture design. Jean PROUVE
1901 - 1984Jean Prouvé (1901-1984) è stato un designer e costruttore francese. Nato a Nancy, iniziò a lavorare nell'officina di ferro del padre prima di studiare arte e design all'École de Nancy. Negli anni Venti iniziò a progettare mobili in metallo e nel 1923 fondò la propria azienda, Ateliers Jean Prouvé.
