Large vintage Murano glass vase by Cleto Munari 1980

Large Murano glass flower vase designed and produced by Cleto Munari in the 1980s. It bears at the base the engraved signature "Cleto Munari 1989". Born in Gorizia in 1930, industrial goldsmith, abnormal figure of a collector, patron, inventor. He met Carlo Scarpa in the 1970s and began to make objects for the home out of precious materials. In 1985, he set up a workshop for which some of the greatest architects and designers (Gae Aulenti, Achille Castiglioni, Ettore Sottsass, Michele De Lucchi, Vico Magistretti, Carlo Scarpa) drew. Cleto Munari's objects are present in the permanent collections of the world's greatest museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
