A proposito di questi mobili di design vintage
A beautiful Banci Firenze vintage Italian glass, brass, chrome and marble dining table matched to four barrel back chrome and fabric chairs attributed to Milo Baughman. This set is a perfect complement of shapes, forms and materials that feature classic Italian designs from the 1970’s. Known for their tables that simulate an opening flower the Banci Firenzi table uses alternating square tubes of chrome and golden gilded brass to create a striking structure that supports a thick glass top. In many of their designs the table support is freestanding with the 4 star top being echoed by a 4 star base, but in this design the support is provided by a weighty octagonal aggregate marble base in hues of grey, green and brown, and therefore makes it a rarer and more unusual table. The round glass top is in excellent vintage condition with only a few light scratches here and there as you would expect but there are no chips out of the edge. Another unusual feature is the gilded brass centre piece which is secured to the glass top and adds an aesthetic appeal that matches the gilded brass in the frame. The top is not fixed to the base so is easier to transport and is simply held in place by the weight it applies to the rubber guards on the supporting arms. The chairs are a good match to the table shape and are also from the same era. I’ve attributed them to Milo Baughman as although I cannot pinpoint this exact design, he designed many chairs with a striking similarity to these. In particular this can be seen in the barrel back design but also in the real craftsmanship shown and the weight of these chairs that derives from the quality of thick gauge steel tubing used in the frame. In addition, the very fine detailing of the silver soldering of the thin barrel back wires where they meet the main frame and the seamless welding and finishing of the arm rest corners and base corners exhibit exactly the kind of quality demanded by Baughman of his production partners. The chairs are also in very good vintage condition with no obvious rust to the chrome and just a few marks to the upholstery as you would expect. The fabric is beautifully soft and velvet like and the gold and brown design matches the colours of both the table frame and the marble base. Please note that both the table and chairs (there are actually six chairs available) can be bought separately via other listings of mine on this website. In my opinion they are however, a perfect match which is why I have put them together as a set. Dimensions Table – H76.5 X W115 X D115cm Chairs – H73 X W54 X D50cm Seat Height: 47cm Arm Height: 71cm
