Designer: Eero Saarinen Brand : Knoll Colour: wood Material: Rio Rosewood, Metal Dimensions: Ø 120 cm x H 72cm The 42-inch round "Tulip" dining table made by Eero Saarinen in collaboration with Knoll can seat four people. It is round, user-friendly and well thought-out, it is resolutely modern and very design-oriented. Eero Saarinen designed the table with the promise of cleanliness, comfort and aesthetics: he vowed to tackle the "ugly, confusing and remorseless world" that he observed under chairs and tables - the so-called "leg shanty". After five years of design studies, he created the revolutionary Pedestal collection, which was launched in 1958 so that there would be no more dust under the legs of tables and chairs. The table top is made of Rio rosewood, which is no longer used today, and the legs are made of metal.
