Vintage High Wingback Rattan Armchair with White Felt Cushion by Lio Carminati Italian 1950

A true Italian Bohemian eyecatcher is this high wingback armchair. This handcrafted rattan piece was designed by Lio Carminati in the 1950s. This item was specifically designed for the prestigious cruise ship ’Conte Biancamano.’ The listed, almost, iconic piece is in extreme good condition with a new off white feltwool upholstered cushion. The wicker has a beautiful patina, not faded and intact. Like his peers - Franco Albini, Tito Agnoli, Giovanni Travasa and Gio Ponti - Lio Carminati designed hand sculptured, elegant and transparent Bohemian modern and refined rattan pieces.
