Vintage table lamp "Cosmos" serie by Preben Jacobsen

Stunning and very rare Danish "Cosmos" series table lamp designed by Preben Jacobsen for Fog & Mørup in 1984. The lamp consists of a metal base and stem, which flares out at the top to seamlessly accommodate the acrylic ’flying-saucer’ shade, which consists of two halves held together by a thick black rubber band, which in turn acts to define the uplight from the downlight. The light is controlled from an in-line switch and retains the original Fog & Mørup label. In good working order and in reasonable vintage condition, with the bottom half of the shade having been damaged on the bottom rim, though this is fortunately mostly concealed within the holder, which also has some paint loss to it’s edge. The upper half of the shade has a small area of mild discolouration and a hairline split due to heat damage in the centre. Despite these issues the lamp is truly beautiful and gives off a gorgeous, soft glowing light.
