Vintage formica wall clock by Junghans, 1950-60s

Vintage wall clock by the German manufacturer Junghans, (founded in 1861 and considered the best watch brand in the world) under ATO license, in two-tone formica. The vintage design of the clock features a fantastic brown "faux rosewood" background and at the ends a beautiful white "ivory" formica with tiny infinite lines reminiscent of the spirit of creative, new wave, carefree design that could be seen on cars, the fashion of the 1950s-1960s. Finally the edges of the clock are covered with a black formica. The design and form also evoke a fine look of the art deco and modern period, both in line with the mentality of the time in which the clock was produced. The clock has two brass-finish hands (one long for the minutes, one short for the hour), plus one red one for the seconds. The clock is in very good condition with a beautiful patina of time. Slight signs of use on the glass and patina of time on the brass rim (see photos) compatible with the age of the piece. Tested and fully functional with a classic AA battery (not included). The front of the clock features the central dial with an ivory white background and grooves between the black numbers, it has a domed glass with a brass rim and can be opened. The back of the clock in perfect condition shows the operating mechanism where there is a thumbwheel to adjust the time. Guaranteed effect in a living room, kitchen or other.
