Pair of GE-290 lounge chairs designed by Hans Wegner for Getama in 1953. Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) is considered one of the most influential and representative designers of the modern mid-century movement - an era that forever changed the way people looked at furniture. The armchairs have undergone a complete professional restoration, which has succeeded in bringing out the classic forms of Danish design, the avant-garde of mid-century design. The honey-coloured Danish oak structure has been carefully restored down to the last detail and has retained the original springs, which are in very good condition. The armchairs have been upholstered with light beige (almost white) Aquaclean fabric in cotton blend, so that the wood and the upholstery have to match to enhance the beauty of the blond wood but also the beautiful fabric. The stain-free Aquaclean technology is a fabric protection system against liquids and stains, based on an internal technology developed to provide an impermeable barrier to the fabrics while preserving their breathability and pleasant feel.
