The ADAM - the chosen abbreviation for the Art and Design Atomium Museum - is the new must-see cultural venue in Brussels! Located near the famous Atomium, the museum and art center dedicated to 20th and 21st century design opened its doors in December 2015. It is the result of the Atomium's exhibitions department's desire to obtain a venue large enough to host large-scale exhibitions. The building is divided into two parts: on the one hand it presents a permanent collection and on the other hand temporary exhibitions. [caption id="attachment_4163" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
© BeFocus - Christophe Licoppe[/caption] The museum's permanent exhibition showcases Plasticarium, the exceptional private collection of the renowned collector Philippe Decelle. More than 2,000 plastic objects designed during the twentieth century are thus exhibited on nearly 2,500 m². Common objects, works of art, design objects... Hundreds of fascinating plastic pieces are brought to light every day! If you are lucky enough to go there several years in a row, you will be able to discover new pieces every time! The number of objects being consequent, the museum made the choice to proceed to an annual rotation so that each new visit is a discovery! If you are lucky enough to visit the ADAM Museum before September 4, you will be able to attend the beautiful retrospective "Eames and Hollywood", dedicated to the photographs taken by Charles and Ray Eames during their visits to the film sets of their friend and director Billy Wilder.
