About this vintage design furniture
This desk was designed in the 1930s by Rudolf Vichr for Vichr a Spol and produced in the 1950s by his successor company, Kovona. The two pedestals with drawers and the worktop are veneered in beech laminate and hand polished with shellac. The curved tubular steel base is chrome-plated and polished.

About the designer
Rudolf VICHR
Rudolf Vichr (1912-2001) was a Czech industrial designer known for his functional and elegant furniture creations. Born in Prague, he studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, where he was influenced by the Bauhaus movement and modernist designs.
