After graduating, Vichr worked for major design companies, including TON, where he designed wooden folding chairs, and Kovona, where he created tubular steel furniture. In the 1950s, he designed plastic furniture for the UP Závody company, using innovative injection-molding techniques. Throughout his career, Vichr won numerous awards for his designs, including a gold medal at the Brussels World Fair in 1958. His designs have been exhibited in museums around the world, including New York's Museum of Modern Art and London's Victoria and Albert Museum. Vichr's work was known for its simplicity and elegance, combining modern forms with traditional materials. His contribution to Czech and European industrial design is recognized as important and innovative.
