About this vintage design furniture
Sideboard in Walnut by Jos De Mey for Van den Berghe-Pauvers, Belgium, 1960s. Part of the Abstracta serie. This sideboard features four large doors and four drawers.
Each door opens and closes with a key. The cabinet has brass details and is labeled on the inside as shown in photos. All together a wonderful find of mid-century design that will definitely draw the attention in the decor. It remains in good, vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. Jos de Mey was a prominent figure in the furniture scene in Gent, Belgium, working in the Van den Berghe-Pauvers furniture company where he would be bound to until the early 1960s.

About the designer
Jos DE MEY
Jos De Mey was a Belgian designer born in Ghent on January 29, 1928 and died in Bruges on January 2, 2007. He studied architecture and design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, where he also taught for several years.
