This chair has the potential to go down in history as one of the most important design inventions of the 20th century 4 metal 404 industrial wire steel stacking chairs, designed by David Rowland in 1964. Produced by Seid International. The type is called 404 because you can stack 40 chairs up to a height of 4 feet. This chair was the first compact stacking chair ever and is widely regarded as the gold standard for stacking chairs. Because of its unprecedented stackable possibilities, but also for its seating comfort, durability, timelessness and elegance. Critics often refer to the chair for its unparalleled industrial sophistication and production method.
