About this vintage design furniture

Vase from the "Capri" series designed by Jacob E. Bang, Fyens Glasværk, 1961. Round, curved body, high, slightly tapered neck and wide neck.Measures:Height 21 cm. Diameter 13,7 cm.Jacob E. Bang (1899-1965) was a versatile artist who worked as an architect, sculptor and craftsman. He is best known for his long association with glass, which began when he was hired at Holmegaard Glasværk in 1925, with permanent employment in 1928, as art director until 1942. During his years at Holmegaard Glasværk, Jacob E. Bang was responsible for almost all new glasses introduced by Holmegaard Glasværk and contributed greatly to the worldwide reputation of Holmegaard Glasværk. In 1956, Jacob E. Bang returned to glass, this time at Kastrup Glasværk and the following year, 1957, he worked as an artistic consultant for the glassworks. Jacob E. Bang died in 1965, shortly before the merger of Fyens Glasværk and Kastrup Glasværk with Holmegaard Glasværk.

Jacob Eiler BANG

Jacob Bang (1899-1965), known as Bang, was a Danish designer, best known for his work in ceramics and glass. He began his career as a painter before turning to industrial design in the 1920s.
