Vintage Amsterdamse School handcrafted wicker armchair, 1950s

This slightly winged armchair in woven wicker from the 1950s is solid and comfortable. The combination of light brown and dark brown wicker woven over each other gives a beautiful contrast. The craftsman had an eye for detail, the feet are in darker wicker, and in remarkable condition. Temporarily staged with a cushion that can easily be replaced with the color and fabric of your choice. With clear connections to the Amsterdamse school, whose objects are deeply rooted in the culture of their time and have a strong sense of place, reflecting Amsterdam’s multicultural society by featuring motifs ranging from Indonesian through Japanese to Swedish.
