Vase diabolo in glazed earthenware Roger Capron in Vallauris, geometrical decoration in relief, 60s. Perfect condition Height 31 cm Diameter 13 cm Signature: "Capron V23, Q6.62 AU8 CAPRON Roger (1922-2006) Professor in Applied Arts, Capron is interested at first in the drawing. He discovered the work of ceramics in Vallauris before Picasso, and created the Callis workshop with Robert Picault. He founded his own studio in 1952 and sold his collections, notably in the United States to the department store Saks Fifth Avenue. He received awards in numerous international exhibitions in Milan, Brussels, Cannes... From 1963 onwards, he gradually abandoned shaped pieces for decorative tiles used in architecture: wall panels, building lobbies, stores.
