Pair of vintage "Osaka" armchairs by Martin Visser for 't Spectrum, 1972

Beautiful set of sz08 chairs designed in 1969 by Martin Visser for ‘t Spectrum. Because of the 1972 Japanese World’s Fair they got the official suffix Osaka. They were presented there. These chairs were in production from 1969 to 1974. The set consists of a black fabric with a chrome base. They are in absolute mint condition, with just a tiny tiny bit of patina on the base. Very comfy and laid back to sit in. Martin Visser was a famous Dutch furniture designer whose designs were rational and minimalist. In addition to being a designer, he was also an art collector and became head curator of modern art (1978-1983) at Museum Boymans-van Beuningen in Rotterdam.
