Vintage pendant lamp by Vitrika, Denmark 1970s

Large minimalistic pendant light från Danish light manufacturer Vitrika. A flat "flying saucer"-like shade with an effective light projection downwards as well as an upwards light through a white plastic diffuser disc. Along the sides of the shade there is a gap reflecting light against a golden surface. Brown powder coating and a brushed aluminum top housing the light bulb socket. The underside has a mounted ring covering the light bulb to protect from glare. Good condition with only minimal sings of use. Standard E27 light bulb socket. Vitrika was a lamp manufacturer with a very large repertoire. There is very little information available about the company, but it was started in the late 1940s by three young men, a salesman, a designer and a craftsman, the slogan was Vi-Tre-Kan (we-three-can), hence the name Vitrika. The company was active between 1948 to 1992.
