Sobre este mobiliário de design vintage

Vesper Dressing Table A stunning highly figured Brazilian Lacewood dressing table or desk, Italianesque in design with chamfered edged detail around the top. The classic piece sits on square tapered legs with a plinth that sits under the four drawers, and each drawer has a matching handle. Manufactured by Vesper and designed by Gimson & Slater. An original ornate three-way mirror sits on top of the unit on a chamfered plinth for added detail. The unit features the CC41 stamp to the rear. Part of the Utility CC41 furniture scheme. Introduced by the British government and headed by Sir Gordon Russell the scheme was designed to cope with shortages of raw materials and rationing of consumption during World War II. The aim was to ensure the production of strong, well-designed furniture making the most efficient use of limited timber. The designs were largely in the tradition of the Arts and Crafts movement, and were simplistic with lack of ornamentation, entirely contrary to the popular taste of the immediate pre-war period. The Utility Furniture Scheme continued into post-war austerity and lasted until 1952, ten years after its introduction in 1942. British, circa 1950. Dimensions (cm): 108 W x 79 H x 61 D (134 H with the mirror) Condition: Very good - This vintage item has no defects, normal usage marks may be apparent.
