Vintage 3-seater sofa model 1741 by Coen de Vries for Gispen 1960

Designed by Coen de Vries for Gispen in the 1960s; this is model 1741. This model has no armrests, which is very much in favour of the minimalist design. Especially in profile (from the side), the sofa is absolutely beautiful. The inverted z-shape of the polished steel frame really comes to life. The slanted seat follows this boat parallel and seamlessly. The upholstered metal frame of the backrest with a slanted seat and backrest allows a very ergonomic and comfortable sitting position. The zip-up cushions, made of dark green ploeg patterned fabric, are all separate and rest freely on the backrest frame, making them easy to replace and clean. The entire sofa is of very solid and high quality construction. The sofa is in good general condition, with some slight corrosion stains on the steel legs. The sofa has been upholstered in the past and therefore the fabric and foam are in good condition. The fabric on the outer edges of the sofa frame showed some visible wear and tear and has therefore been repaired almost invisibly. The inner fabric of the backrest frame has also been replaced (black fabric) due to previous damage, so that it is also in perfect condition.
