Set of 4 vintage brass and velvet yacht chairs USA art deco 1970

This is a remarkable set of art deco chairs by an unknown designer and manufacturer, but with a very special story to tell. The chairs were probably ordered specifically by the owner of an American luxury yacht in the 70s or 80s. This yacht was decommissioned in the Moselle region of Bonn-Koblenz many years ago. The previous owner bought the chairs (among other furniture) of this yacht, considering that the boat was to be deconstructed. The chairs were in the yacht's living room, apparently at the small dining table of the guests. The chairs are well constructed and feature a brass-plated steel frame with an upholstered velvet back and seat. The curved shape of the frame towards the back has strong similarities with the art-deco period. The round, upholstered backrest itself has strong similarities with Japanese models such as the Esprit house chairs by Shiro Kuramata. They also have many similarities with Rodney Kinsman's Vienna chair. The chairs show some general wear and tear, such as some discoloration of the brass-plated steel and some small scratches near the bottom. The velvets have been remarkably well preserved, with no damage and only a few slight stains.
