Pair of vintage PLR1 Luar lounge armchairs by Ross Littell for ICF De Padova Italy 1960

Made of chrome-plated steel and beige fabric, the PLR1 is a particularly elegant version of a slipper chair with a low, sloping seat and a curved frame that extends into two legs on trestles that extend horizontally. The four protective legs are deliberately blocking plastic cubes. The chromed frames are still in very good condition, one of them having been rechromed recently. One of the chairs has been upholstered in the past, while the other has not. So there is a very slight difference in colour, even though the upholstery was made in the same colour. The fabric has some very slight visible stains but nothing extraordinary. The whole structure is perfectly stable and the weight of the chairs confirms the quality of their construction.
