Vintage "Hall" Sofa By Roberto Menghi For Arflex, 1958

Roberto Menghi was awarded with the honorable mention for the Compasso d'Oro in 1959 for the Hall armchair, due to it's original conception; the design of Hall armchair and sofa is structured on the idea of having very wide armrests which could in themselves act as further seats. The parts of the sofa are treated as autonomous elements from the manufacturing point of view, the basic frame is made of diecast aluminium. The sofa has been recently re-upholstered with stain-resistant fabric, and the frame re-painted.
