About this vintage design furniture
Set of 2 chairs, designed by Peter Hvidt and Orla Molgaard in 1944 and manufactured by Portex, Denmark. The chairs are designed to stack. Constructed from solid beech legs and beech plywood seats and backs. In good original condition, great patination all over and retain original vinyl seat pads. Marked to the underside of one chair.

Peter HVIDT & Orla MOLGAARD NIELSEN
Hvidt & Mølgaard Nielsen is a mid-20th-century Danish design duo consisting of Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard Nielsen. Peter Hvidt was born in Copenhagen in 1916 and studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts before working as a designer for various companies. Orla Mølgaard Nielsen was born in Copenhagen in 1907 and also studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, before working as an architect and designer.
