About this vintage design furniture
Pair of ceramic pedestal lamps designed by Gunnar Nylund. Handthrown at Rörstrand in Sweden during the 1950′s. From the “rubus” series. Stoneware in beige gray and brown mottled matte glaze, nubby surface. Incised with initials of ceramist. New electricity with braided black fabric cable, light switch on the cord. New lampshades in white textured fabric. Excellent condition.

About the designer
Gunnar NYLUND
Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a Swedish designer known for his contributions to the Scandinavian ceramics industry. Born in Paris, Nylund spent his childhood in France and studied sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1925, he returned to Sweden and began working in the ceramics industry in Upsala-Ekeby.
